Beginning with ebook writing Part One

I started seriously attempting to write in my forties.Often, the much needed "push",comes from a life event which you grab onto as the prime time. After years of procrastinating,I was lucky enough to meet a new neighbour who wrote independently.

She helped me discover digital writing resources I had never even heard of.Perhaps like I was,you are tired of endlessly scrolling the internet.Dizzy with confusion on the literally hundreds of websites offering advice,I learned about a free ebook platform(free for authors, that is),called Smashwords.Recently, another ebook platform(Draft to Digital...also free!),has merged with Smash words.

You can submit your writing to Draft to Digital, and they will publish in a format that is available for readers.However...hold on! You'll need to study what(and how),to create your ebook.Unfortunately, upon writing this, the readily available how-to's from Smash words are no longer available.So....my steps I advise are this:

Download on your desktop computer a program called"Paint".Its free, and once you have it,you can create your own ebook cover.https://www.getpaint.net.Just be careful here...this website is free, and runs on windows. If you have another system, like Mac,you might need to do your own research on compatible software. As with downloading any new software...be careful!I don't mean to sound cryptic and scare you away from doing this, but do approach and read first with caution. As there are a lot of platforms that may not be as stated.

Incidentally,it took me at least a year to learn how to create a cover, write in the format that is acceptable. The hardest part you'll find is the constant editting. So,don't be in a hurry!

Some of my darkest days were filled with learning, and typing stories. What a wonderful distraction it is!You hopefully will feel such accomplishment, your blue mood will slip away,as a whole new writing world opens up before your very eyes!
